About Me

My photo
Once upon a time, there lived a little girl. More than anything in the whole wide world, this little girl wanted to be loved. She searched many, many foreign places for love. She kissed many toads for love. She loved and she loved and she loved. The more she loved, the harder it became. Her tiny little heart was fading. Layers and layers of molten skin were binding her. Finally, the little girl exploded. She began lashing out at everything and everyone in sight. Bolts of lightning were striking all she touched and did not touch. She began to spin out of control. As she spun, rings and rings were spinning off of her painting the earth. Many colors began flying throughout the air. Suddenly, she was naked. She looked into the water and there, she found her love. Now, to find the prince…

Night Time

20" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas with Ink

As I looked across the way
the picture I saw
was not what I painted

As I looked across the way
the picture I saw
was all bleak and dark
the background was black
surrounded by light
yet
with the black
standing out foremost

As I looked across the way
colors surrounding me
beautiful
bright
colors I painted
to get through
the battered
the bruised
the broken

Make this world
a better place
paint your world
full of life
full of colors
and you shall
find your way

In the end
it is never over
so why not choose love
over
the battered, bruised, and broken

Your heart will
turn cartwheels
against
the battered, bruised, and broken

Open up
and you will see
what was once me
the battered, bruised, and broken
choosing
a better life
than
the battered, bruised, and broken

I believe in love
always have
always will
over
the battered, bruised, and broken

Make the changes
find your way
seek a life
full of beauty, love, and open

Open up your heart
throw away the darts
peace within
brings peace without
the battered, bruised, and broken

Shine On

Sons

Earlier this week, I received a phone call from my eldest son Craig. He says, "I fucked up mom". He then proceeds to confess what he did. Been there, done that. Not a judgmental bone in my body. I emphasized with him. Roads we have to walk down. It'll be ok.

Today, my younger son Anthony calls me at work. He was sound asleep in his bed this morning when I left for work. He says, "I almost died yesterday". Recently, he's taken up kayaking. Him and his friend Dana went kayaking on the Oconee River in Chattanooga. They put their kayaks in the river. First they come upon a copperhead. Then when Dana gets into her kayak, a spider appears. She is totally flipping out. Anthony is thinking, "man, it's just a spider" and paddles over to her to get rid of the spider. He then told me it was the size of his hand! Dana jumps out of her kayak and gets on top of Anthony's. Anthony flips her kayak over in order to get rid of the spider. Meantime, his kayak is filling up with water. Dana jumps off and holds on to her kayak which is floating upside down. Anthony gets out of his kayak because it is sinking. He had nothing to hold on to. At this point, they are at the rapids. Dana goes down the rapids holding on to her kayak. Anthony goes down the rapids with nothing. His kayak goes without him. Dana is rescued by, as they called themselves, "Pakinstan rednecks". Anthony went down the entire river with his body. He finally saw some people on the shore. He swims against the currents and they rescue him. So, we summed it up. The most dangerous thing about kayaking is the critters one encounters. Not the river. Also, they made new friends. They went to Dana's rescuers' home afterwards. Anthony said they were the most coolest guys he's met!

Lovers' Energy

Jeannine's husband. She brought me a picture of him from the 80's.

20" x 24" Acrylic, Ink on Canvas

SOLD!

The woman who purchased my painting told me the man in the painting reminded her of her husband. She told me she was looking at some old pictures of him - he was gruffy looking. He doesn't look like that now. She would not have married him if he did. He likes rhythm and blues. She plays the saxophone. She purchased the painting for him. I was so happy to hear that he loved the painting. Agreed that the man resembled the pictures. Delighted that he saw himself in the painting! Now, it this blog fits.

Lay With Me

Feeling you
entangled
limbs upon limbs
abundance of love
circling
embracing
us
Feeling you
heart to heart
beating faster
thought of you
Feeling you
we are anewed
fusing with energy
sharing
caring
ohh
love
those hazel eyes
my beautiful
lovely
hairy man
take me
as we stand
your gentleness
rubs the depth of me
my sweet, sweet friend
come
take my hand
soaring high
down below
only this
we know
love
what a delicious fruit

Morning

16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas

The morning for me

is all so magnificent

The morning for me

rings in like sunshine

flowing with rays

The morning for me

to lie down at night

in my soft bed

with you in my head

to hold you in my arms

dreaming

oh my gosh

dreaming

while I am with you

The morning for me

imaginations

so high

of the night we shared before

imaginations

of life

this day is just that

this day

whatever imagined

it is

as I watch Betty

my St. Bernard

wondering where Sassy

went

wondering why she suddenly

disappeared

Sassy passed on a week or so ago

she was old

her time had came

yet Betty

wonders

where did she go

as I talked with my mom

this morning

she tells of her dreams of last night

she is out in the woods

with some crazy folks

yet in the midst of it all

she finds my dad

opening mail

is that not funny

she dreams of my dad opening mail

perhaps it was his letter to her

she reads this morning

yes

my imagination

does take off

especially in the morning

after a delightful night

of dreaming

today holds everything

and today

this morning

my love shines so brightly

as my night

slept oh so peacefully

in your arms

angel

sleeping

peacefully

in your arms

thank you my dear

for resting

with me

Finding My Legs

Acrylic on Canvas 18" X 24"

Plumber came first. $114 to fix leak. Exterminator came next. $400. Appears I have infestation of cave crickets. Yeah, I know. They jump about in the house. I catch them and throw them out. Mortgage company called me yesteday at work. When are you going to make your mortgage payment? Uh, Friday, when I get paid. Doing the best I can here. Took the day off. It was wonderful. Went and bought canvas and paint. I absolutely adore painting. Anyway, my legs came back to me. I am me. Don't really care if you like me. I am me. It would be nice if you did. That's who I am.

Passion Rising

Realizing
why I am angry
ego
ego wants
what it cannot have
ego
to love someone
so much
yet circumstances
keep you apart
to love someone
who you've held in your heart
who you've tangled with your body
ego
not mine
his worries of what others will think
his worries of doing the "Godly" thing
which in turn is really humorous
being Catholic
it is ok to have an affair
but it is not ok
to divorce
funny
live the lie
live the pretense
while your heart yearns
for the one you love
do the "right thing"
stay in a non intimate marriage
spread your joy of being alive
if that's what you call
"being alive"
ego
yeah
funny thing
he is only a man
hmm
anger
flew out the door
the second
my love
returned
to his heart
the second
our bodies entangled
reaching higher
than ever before
connection
of true love
and no
no such thing as
"you can do better than me"
how ridiculous is that
to tell the heart
it can do better
i sit
i wait
with this smile on my face
with a knowing
of
true love

Married Men

Married men are not for me
I learned my lesson
so let it be
Married men are not for me
promises they make
using god as defense
Married men
stay away from me
if your marriage
is so bad
then leave
until then
stay away from me

Give Up

I give up love
I tried
it only hurts
I give up love
it fuckn hurts
I give it up
So damn dismayed
cool waters
spraying over me
leave me alone
let me be
fuck you
and your dismay
yeah i am mad
fuck you
let me be
go away
fuck you
let me be
what a terrible song
to end it be
cool waters
will rest its being
but tonight
fuck you
i am mad
find another song to being had
fuck you
i am mad

God

They say you have to ask the question to get the answer. My question is, "who is God"? I would certainly love to know. Funny, spelled backwards, "god", is "dog". Evil spelled backwards is "live". words are words. Manipulating words is not my cup of tea. Am I safe? Who knows? Living life to the fullest without regard to "words" is my greatest desire. Not a "game player". I just love. That's all I know. Love.

Not Much

It doesn't take much
to make me smile
it doesn't take much
to love you so
It doesn't take much
but the smell of the air
it doesn't take much
for me to care
It doesn't take much
for the sun to rise
it doesn't take much
to rid the disquise
It does take alot
for you to find
it does take alot
for this poem to rhyme
it does take alot
for one to be
it does take alot
to be me

Party Girls

Spending the whole weekend on the houseboat was absolutely marvelous!!! From the lake, to the fiddler's festival, to the live music, and the dancing - not much better than that! I do have to say, dancing barefoot in the rain for pizza was awesome. Thanks for dancing with me baby! I love it when you do that:)

Hmmmm

Expressing love to one another
hmmmm
brings sweet, sweet flow
waters gently running
in all the right places
which stimulate
Expressing love to one another
flowing glowing
fingers caressing
tongues exploring
sensual
brings you to your knees
Expressing love to one another
in this imagination of ours
desires heighten
contact made
hmmmm what a glorious day!

Holding On

I am holding on to our dream sweet man
holding on to what we want
I am holding on to our dream sweet man
so the universe does not sweep it away
I am holding on to our dream sweet man
lay down with me and hold me tonight
Dreams of yesterday are not real
dreams of today will take us there
I am holding on to our dream sweet man
lay down with me and hold me tonight
See it feel it believe it
it is there
do not let the universe sweep it away
I am holding on to our dream sweet man
lay down with me and hold me tonight
Dreams of yesterday will not take hold
lay down with me and hold me tonight

Dancing Hearts

The love I feel will never end
circles around and around
the love we've found
The love we feel will never end
dances inside of us
with our dancing hearts
My love is true
for only you

How Many Times

How many times will I give my heart away

before I refrain

How many times will I give my love away

before I refrain

How many times will I ride that train?

Oh to love is a risky business

to return to loving married men

oh to love is a risky business

How many times will I ride that train?

Living as a human being

desiring only to experience life

in this lifetime

Living as a human being

feeling spiritually alive

yet the heart

is where the daggers dart

How many times will I ride that train?
