About Me

My photo
Once upon a time, there lived a little girl. More than anything in the whole wide world, this little girl wanted to be loved. She searched many, many foreign places for love. She kissed many toads for love. She loved and she loved and she loved. The more she loved, the harder it became. Her tiny little heart was fading. Layers and layers of molten skin were binding her. Finally, the little girl exploded. She began lashing out at everything and everyone in sight. Bolts of lightning were striking all she touched and did not touch. She began to spin out of control. As she spun, rings and rings were spinning off of her painting the earth. Many colors began flying throughout the air. Suddenly, she was naked. She looked into the water and there, she found her love. Now, to find the prince…

Top of the Morning

"Top of the Morning" - my morning text message from Bill. Walking outside to feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face, appreciating the "break" in winter weather, the birds singing all around with the promise of spring to come, yes, it is very much "the top of the morning"! Bill, who is married, with 4 children, being "Mr. Mom" while his wife furthers her education, spent yesterday at the science fair. I spent the day cleaning.
The monkey grass came out of my father's yard. When he died, my mother sold their house, so I wanted to take a "piece" of him with me. This picture shows the "gold" shining through.
My friend David spent the weekend with his son, texting me tales of their time together. My oldest son is 35, middle son 22, and my daughter is 15. I have been blessed to spread out my motherhood quite a bit. Those memories of going to the park, flying a kite, chasing squirrels are endless.
A friend called me late last night and said, "I'm going to the Gold Rush, I'll come by and pick you up". Indeed, she did. My daughter had a friend spending the night and they were getting ready to leave for a party. So, yes, I did go and enjoy myself. After 1 glass of wine, and one shot of tequila, my friend ordered food. My friend sat at the bar chatting with others. I, on the other hand, moved about from one room to the other, shooting pool. It appears my game is off these days. That's ok, at least I tried. Not sure what time my head found my pillow last night, but I do know I love sunshine in the morning!
My friend, knowing my financial situation - trying to help my son while he is in college - well, she paid for our night at the Gold Rush - yes, the little things in life definitely puts a smile on my face!
