You can't just wake up and decide
oh hey
I will reinvent myself
I will take away my past
and turn into someone else

I for one take my past
and stare it straight into the eye
and say
hey
this is me
this is who I was
and now
this is who I am

I carried a past
as much humans did
yet
I chose
to stare that past
straight into the face
to become
who I am

for who I was
for that was a part of me
discovering
who I need to be

as far as reinventing me
